About the role

We are hiring a mid level Avalara AvaTax Implementation Consultant to own implementations from kickoff through go live. This role is responsible for delivery, customer communication, and configuration across AvaTax modules.

This is not a training role. The consultant in this position must already be comfortable leading implementations independently without real time guidance.

What you will own

  • Lead AvaTax implementations from kickoff through go live
  • Configure and test AvaTax integrations
  • Set up and support Avalara Returns
  • Implement Exemption Certificate Management (ECM)
  • Participate in customer kickoff calls, working sessions, and closeout meetings
  • Identify issues early and communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Document configuration and implementation decisions

What we are looking for

Required

  • Active Avalara AvaTax certification
  • Hands on experience with AvaTax implementations
  • Experience implementing Avalara Returns
  • Experience implementing Exemption Certificate Management (ECM)
  • Comfortable meeting directly with customers
  • Ability to manage your own work and timelines
  • Availability at least three days per week during business hours

Nice to have

  • Experience working with a Certified Implementation Partner
  • Experience with ERP or ecommerce integrations
  • Experience with multi entity or complex business environments

Compensation

This is a contract role.

  • Hourly rate range: $55 to $75 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
  • Ongoing project based work for the right candidate
